Inside the Winter ‘Bodyfulness’ Box

Feature Book

"BODYFULNESS: Somatic Practices for Presence, Empowerment and Waking Up in This Life.” by Christine Caldwell

Christine Caldwell’s Bodyfulness brings us a wonderful and powerful reminder that the body is not just a vessel to be managed, ignored (or transcended) .. but a wise, dynamic partner in our journey toward presence and transformation. While “mindfulness” has become something of a cultural catchphrase, Caldwell offers a new word and a new view; ‘bodyfulness’ as a powerful complement to our practice.

Drawing on decades of somatic counselling and teaching, Caldwell invites us into a practice of embodied awareness, challenging the lingering view that places the mind above the body.

She argues, mindfulness, while valuable, often reinforces the belief that thinking is somehow more noble than feeling, sensing, or moving. In response, she presents bodyfulness as a way of being that restores balance, deepens self-understanding, and helps us feel more alive in the present moment.

Our bodyfulness project is to consciously track sensations, breathe, move, and relate to others in ways that make the emotions and thoughts usable for our return to balance.” - Christine Caldwell

MEDITATION SHAWL. In the gorgeous colour named ‘eggplant’ … woven by skilled artisans in far Western Nepal, this meditation shawl blends cotton and acrylic to create a piece that is exceptionally warm and soft to the touch. Generously sized yet lightweight, it can be draped as a shawl or wrapped as a scarf... offering gentle warmth during meditation or quiet winter moments.

More than just comfort, this shawl is a gesture of support for your bodyfulness practice - a soft, grounding presence through the colder months.

108 MALA BEAD NECKLACE. Sourced from my local Tibetan Buddhist community. Mala is sanskrit for "garland", and is traditionally a necklace of 108 beads, used in both Buddhist and Hindu prayer and meditation practices. The number ‘108’ is considered a sacred number in many cultures and religions, and in Vedic cosmology is the basis of creation, representing the universe and all our existence.

Your mala is a tactile anchor for bodyfulness, helping you focus and deepen awareness as each bead moves through your fingers, guiding attention to the rhythm of your mantra and breath.

RED TIGER BALM. Often tucked into athlete kits and travel pouches, Tiger Balm is more than just a remedy for tired muscles - it can be a subtle yet powerful ally in your meditation and mindfulness practice. With its distinct blend of camphor, menthol, and warming botanicals, this balm awakens the senses and gently draws your awareness back to the body.

Before meditation or mindful movement (bodyfulness) we can apply a small amount of balm to the soles of our feet, temples, or anywhere there is tension. A gesture of kindness toward the body, the warmth, scent and tingling sensations can all become invitation to listen and soften into presence.

BAMBOO BODY BRUSH. A dry body brush offered as a simple but effective tool for reconnecting with the wisdom of your body. Inspired by traditional practices across many cultures, dry brushing offers a gentle and loving moment of stillness and self-care, supporting circulation, lymphatic flow, and sensory presence.

As a Bodyfulness ritual, this is a gentle invitation to pause, to feel, to listen, and to honour the landscape of your skin - your largest organ and a living boundary between inner and outer worlds, constantly interpreting sensations, temperature, texture and touch.timeless vessel of light.

MEDITATION TIMER. In our fast-paced, always-connected world, this simple meditation timer offers quiet structure - supporting presence without pulling you into your phone. Sleek and compact, it’s easy to use and designed to stay out of the way gently guiding your practice with intention rather than distraction.

A gift of greater focus on your breath and your presence and a reminder that meditation is about being here - now.

INSPIRATION CARDS + WOODEN STAND. Five new inspiration cards to support your daily practice. Simply draw a card and pause for reflection - inviting each message to be a gentle reminder of your intention to integrate your body with mindfulness - to “know” your body through your breath, awareness of sensations, and movement.
